-a poem (sung in a Locrian mode, with florid counterpoint)

The Sun’s tender sheen
dances freshly on my brow
as I awaken.

In a sweet caress,
as it baths me through and through,
I wander outside.

The trees are bursting
with lemons and little birds.
I sit in wonder

each day,

when

a loved one is born.

(As today, and a few other days, whether they’re still here or ‘away’, the warmest light seems to shine even if it rains – just like today.  And, it wasn’t even raining.)

Sung the babbling brook

dancing cooly in the breeze

in sweet surrender

to a soft chinook

as it passed, warm and ternder,

fragrantly through  trees,

where the humming bees

parade their brightest yellow

to a flutt’ring halt

where lay

the

stiffened furry bear.

poem

Looking at the chair,
sun ablaze on whitened hair,
– a glistening memory.

Your voice, deep and low
in soft cascade whence it flows
past recollection.
I feel  your sweet gaze
pour gently upon my skin
and learn that God is

tender

and
careful with my heart.

A 59 syllable poem.  I was going to call this poem ”575 575575 215”, but that made it look too much like a phone number
